Burn Brothers at the Notting Hill Carnival 2007
Burn Brothers are hitting the Notting Hill Carnival in style this year with a festival warm up party at Westbourne Studios on Thursday 23rd and then following it with a set in meanwhile gardens on Monday 27th around 4pm. We’re using the occasion to unleash 3 new tracks on the public and will be updating the burn brothers myspace with some live mixes very soon.
Summer 2007 Gig updates
Burn Brothers are playing out again. On Weds 27th June we’re getting together with two dollar hooker to rock Tamarai on Jury Lane in covent garden, its an ideal venue to showcase visuals so we’ll be using the opportunity to premiere our realtime visualisation system. Then the following thursday (5th July) we’re heading west to play at Westbourne Studios.
Meanwhile The Sancho Plan are going heading to Austria with a gig at the Ars Electronica festival in Linz at the beginning of September. We’ve also been invited to update the installation thats been a popular fixture in the Ars Electronica Centre for the last year - it’ll be a special version of spacequatica although we’re still working on the precise details.
The Sancho Plan Spacequatica Video
Ed has been busy and there is now an abridged edit of Spacequatica filmed at the Goldsmiths gig last week (1st March) up on youTube and (by the power of web 2.0) also on this page. Enjoy ![]()
Burn brothers live
After the success of the first gig we’re taking burn brothers back out on the road this april. We’ve got a gig at the cuban in camden (opp barfly) on weds april 11th and we’re playing on saturday 28th april at the 333 in old street. The cuban will be free to get in to, while the 333 is £6, which is pretty reasonable for a saturday night out. There will be flyers etc around closer to the date so do check back or you can check the burn brothers myspace here
Spacequatica at the Sage
A member of the audience at the Sancho Plan gig at The Sage, Gateshead recorded most of the gig and stuck it up on YouTube. How cool is that? Unforunately it only captures the first 2 out of 3 acts (the third act is the coolest imho), but it’ll give you a flavour of the new Spacequatica piece we’ve developed and the 3D engine that underpins it.
The Sancho Plan 2007
The Sancho Plan are playing at a number of dates on the Future of Sound tour organised by Martyn Ware.
We’re playing:
Millennium Galleries, Sheffield on 18th January,
The Sage, Gateshead on 25th January,
Norwich Arts Centre, Norwich on 8th February and
Royal College of Art, London on 15th March.
Hope to see you there!
Burn brothers live
The Burn Brothers live outfit will be stepping out of the studio for a low key christmas gig on Saturday 16th December at Liam Og’s in kennington. We’re on about 9.30 and entry is free.
Ceramics exhibition
I’ve been going to a ceramics group on a saturday morning for a couple of years. We’ve got together and decided to put on a show of our best pieces of work. Its going to be at Gayton Library in Harrow from the 6th - 19th november. Its free to get into and some of the work will be on sale. There will be a private show so get in touch if you’d like to come along!
Sancho Plan @ Dana
The drum installation is live and playable all week at the Dana centre (behind Science Museum in London) as part of the London Games Festival Fringe. The installation is pretty much the same as the version at Ars Electronica so come along and have a play if London is closer than Austria.
Burn Brothers are alive
The Burn Brothers website is now live. Nothing much to see except for a link to the Burn Brothers myspace page which has now been designed and features 2 of our older tracks.
We’ve got some great tracks we’ve been working on featuring dub poet Marc Matthews on vocals and we’ll put some of them up on myspace soon!
